Point of View / Introduction to Animation

Our final film for Introduction to Animation was Point of View. To create this animation we needed to show our emotions, what makes us happy, what bothers us etc.

In the beginning, I was struggling to choose one topic and I had to really question what is important to me. I have decided to show in my animation nowadays pressure on the society to look perfect. I think that most of the people, unfortunately, compare themselves to unreal ideals from social media that photoshopped their every picture. I was also the victim of comparing every day my body or my face to girls on social media for a very long time, which was unhealthy to my mental health and that is why I chose this theme.

I was inspired by the film “Be a Lady They Said” by Girls.Girls.Girls.Magazine. The music “Be a Lady” by Louis Souyave gave me the motivation to create a film and I decided to use this music as well in my animation.

I created Storyboard to get more clear of what am I doing.

As I created Storyboard I started making my animation in Adobe Animate. I wanted to draw powerful and strong women and contradict peoples opinions to show that no one’s ideal and no one will be. I have decided to draw quite a simple animation by only drawing the outlines however when I wanted to catch the attention I used the colour red of the outline or other colours. It was very important to me that every drawing connect to another. At the end of the film, I wanted to give a message to just be yourself and don’t pretend to be anyone else.
